A public bench formed by a three-dimensional Möbius strip: a ‘Y’ that forms a seat, the back of the seat and the bottom of the seat – the ‘Y’ turns and rotates and joins itself in a circle. A seat outside the circle becomes the back of a seat inside the circle, which becomes the back of a seat outside, which becomes a seat inside, which becomes the bottom of a seat outside, which becomes the bottom of a seat inside. You can sit on one leg of the ‘Y,’ outside the circle or inside: you can sprawl over and lie inside the crux of the ‘Y,’ inside or outside; you can climb and crawl from one leg to another, outside to inside to outside. The surface and the structure of the bench is the same. The bench glows from within. It functions as furniture, as playground equipment, and as light.
